{this moment}- A Friday ritual. A single photo- no words -capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor, and remember.

50 Days Of Gratitude - Day #16

from recycling...

This year we started our seeds late but start them we did. As it is our mission to reuse everything that comes into our home before we try to recycle it or throw it away we felt that our seedling pots should be made from something in our recycling collection. At first we thought we should use egg cartons because they do make such perfect little holders for seeds and soil. We realized, though, that we wanted each seedling to be able to stand alone and be planted where it seemed to fit perfect in the yard. So we decided that the toilet paper cardboard rolls would be perfect. These are really very simple to do. Fold the bottoms, fill with soil, add seeds, a little more soil, add some water and, Voila! You have your individual seedling homes that can go directly in the ground when they are ready to be planted. Don't forget to write the names of the seeds on to their little containers unless you wish for a surprise garden. To keep your littlest busy, give them their own little container of soil, a spoon or tiny spade, a container to fill, and a place to sit. Hooray for recycling and the beauty and yummy goodness that will grow from it!

50 Days Of Gratitude - Day #15

Earth Day Festivities
A group effort to create cob bricks and little cob structures...wonderful way to teach important skills like self sufficiency in structure creation and working as a team!
Cob brick frame and a freshly made brick.

Washed Ashore is an amazing group that takes the yuck that washes up on the beaches and creates interesting and beautiful art.

We have a dear friend who is an event organizer and PR person.
She puts together some of the loveliest festivals and I am always happy to lend a hand. This year she put on a wonderful Earth Day festival in Marin County and we had the pleasure of taking part in it.
I am so grateful to have gifted friends and fun times to be had.

50 Days Of Gratitude - Day #13

growing in all ways
As I continue to do new things and challenge myself I am constantly awed by the feeling of wonder when something that I have been working towards is brought into the light. The warm rush and the giddy tingling of joy make all the nerves of anticipation seem as nothing. I am thrilled to say my first article is available for reading at Sacred Pregnancy and I couldn't be happier with how it came out! I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Many blessings and great joy in all of your endeavors!

50 Days Of Gratitude- Day #12

some stones and a creek to toss them in

On these first truly warm days of the season there is very little we need. To be outside, to be together, to be quietly enjoying ourselves with not more than giggles and the plop splash of stone to water.

50 Days Of Gratitude - Day #11

the promise of rainbows

what needs to be said that the mind can't conjure on it's own when one is faced with patches of blue sky and sudden sun shiny warmth after days of rain?
Yummmmmmm!
